Muse, 2024

An exhibition to explore the forest through the eyes of the youngest.
An immersive experience accompanies children from 0 to 5 years old in discovering nature, following the rhythm of day and night, the cycle of the seasons, and the life hidden among roots, trunks, and streams. An invitation to cultivate curiosity and wonder for the environment.

my contribution
In this project, I played a dual role, managerial and operational. I coordinated the design and development team. From the software side, I handled the front-end part of one of the two installations using TouchDesigner. In this environment, children can explore the life of forest inhabitants, discovering cause-effect sequences. Thanks to a LiDAR sensor mounted on the wall, some projected elements react to touch, animating. The floor is made interactive using a RealSense camera that sends a video stream to the PC via NDI. Here, a real-time object detection system, trained with YOLO, recognizes the presence of people and objects (like a log/cushion), sending data to TouchDesigner. This allows activation of specific animations: river water moves around obstacles, and a log hides insects that flee when moved. Finally, I took care of hardware selection, technological infrastructure design, and its integration into the physical spaces and between installations.
